Christmas is coming?
True, but there’s a more exciting event happening this weekend. The wedding everyone has been talking about.
Brooke & Nick tie the knot.
What?
You haven’t been following this celebrity couple’s wedding plans? You’re missing out.
But the hoopla about to happen this weekend isn’t just about two crazy kids getting hitched. It’s way bigger.
Brooke and Nick are modeling the love and commitment that God has for his bride, the universal church of believers.
God, as the groom, chose us, proposed a new life together, and we have accepted. We now anxiously await the big day, the Great Day, our wedding day, when we will be finally and forever united with our groom.
Holy (Wedding Day) gives me goosebumps as I listen to it and think about that wedding day. It’s gonna be easy enough for me to cry at Brooke & Nick’s wedding tomorrow (maybe even during rehearsal tonight, who knows), but that day? Whoa.
.
This is the story of the son of God, hanging on a cross for me.
And it ends with a bride and groom and a wedding by a glassy sea.
This is the story of a bride in white singing on her wedding day.
All together, all that was and is, to stand before her God and sayHOLY, HOLY
HOLY, HOLY
HOLY, HOLY IS THE LORD ALMIGHTY
Join me in congratulating Brooke and Nick and thanking them for the reminder of the wedding by the glassy sea that’s still to come!
